Global Sustainable Sourcing Lead, Sugar & Coconut | Nestlé

Karen Lourdes leads the global ESG strategies for sugar and coconut sourcing to deliver on Nestlé’s commitments to human rights, climate, no deforestation, responsibly sourced ingredients and regenerative agriculture. Based in the Nestrade Malaysia Procurement Hub, she works closely with Nestlé’s global procurement team and strategic suppliers.

Before taking on her current role in 2022, Karen worked with Nestlé’s strategic suppliers to deliver on climate commitments as a Sustainability Procurement Analyst in the company’s Sustainability Acceleration Team. 

She joined Nestle in 2021 while completing her PhD in Environmental and Geographical Sciences at the University of Nottingham. Her doctoral research focused on modelling physical and social ecosystem services in urban areas.

Karen is passionate about environmental conservation and has worked with several non-governmental organisations in various capacities, prior to and while undertaking her Master’s in Applied Wildlife Conservation.
