Juan Carlos Fernández is a Salvadoran lawyer and notary, specialised in international trade. Since 2014 he has served as Executive Director of Azucareros del Istmo Centroamericano – AICA, based in Guatemala. From this position he coordinates the Central American Sugar Sector Sustainability Group, which aims to promote the sustainability of the sector through regional actions.

He has also previously held a range of positions in the public sector and in institutions for Central American integration.
