A Thai national, based in Bangkok, Thirach comes from a background of sustainable sourcing in Asia and started his career in procurement across the region for a large multinational retailer focussing on human rights, and environmental and social compliance.

A passionate believer in long term sustainability in agri-business value chains, he currently holds the position of Executive Director at Agricultural and Food Marketing Association for Asia and the Pacific (AFMA ASIA), having formerly served as the Chair of the Taskforce for Responsible Consumption and Production within the Business Advisory Council to the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP).  Prior to that he was the strategic advisor on Sustainability for Profitability, which encompasses ESG and Sustainable Development Goals on Climate Action, SCP and Sustainable Food Value Chain management.

In these roles he has been the driving force behind the establishment of the Sustainable Agro-Food Multi-stakeholder Partnership Platform, the Sustainable Ocean Ambassador program, and Climate Action Awards.
