Group Chief Sustainability Officer, Omnicane |
Rajiv Ramlugon is the Group Chief Sustainability Officer at Omnicane, one of the largest groups in the sugar cane and energy sector in Mauritius. He is responsible for all matters related to environmental management, renewable energy and sustainable supply chain management. He is also the CSR Coordinator of Omnicane Foundation whose mission is to promote community development and empowerment within the framework of Omnicane’s Corporate Social Responsibility. Since 2017, he has been the Chief Risk Officer at Omnicane, in charge of the Group’s Risk Management Framework.
Prior to joining Omnicane in 2007, Rajiv spent 10 years in the field of soil waste management. He has 25 years of experience in the field of corporate sustainability in Mauritius and has also been involved in the implementation and management of various international quality, environmental and sustainability standards.
Rajiv Ramlugon holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Mauritius, a master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, with distinction, from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne, and an MBA in Global Sustainable Management from Anaheim University, California.
