Mr Luis Ramiro García is the General Director of the National Committee for Sustainable Development of Sugar Cane (CONADESUCA), the main regulatory body for sugarcane in Mexico.

He collaborated at the Chapingo Autonomous University (UACh) as a full-time Research Professor from 1982-2018, and was the director of the Department of Agroindustrial Engineering of the UACh, 2002-2005. He has also headed up several projects in the sugarcane agribusiness sector.

Mr. García has a master’s degree of Science in Agricultural Economics from COLPOS and is a Doctor of Economics from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).
