Laíssa Pollyana do Carmo is a researcher at Repórter Brasil, monitoring the National Congress and the biofuels sector, looking at social and environmental movements. She has experience in the defence of human rights, rural workers, family farming, agrarian reform, land tenure regularisation, the environment and the fight against slave labor.
Previously, Laíssa worked at the Secretariats of Rural Wage-earners and Agrarian Policy, where she was an advisor to the National Confederation of Rural Workers and Family Farmers – CONTAG between 2015 and 2021. She represented the organisation at the National Commission on Human Rights – CNDH and at the National Commission for Eradication of Slave Labor – CONATRAE. Prior to that she was an advocate for the Endangered Persons Protection Program.
Laíssa Pollyana do Carmo has a degree in Law from the Federal University of Goiás – UFG.
